BULLARD — The Miller Grove boys took first place here in regional Class 1A track action and won the boys division.

“We took first and won the region. We had several set personal bests and school records,” said Gary Billingsley, head coach. “Nathan George was the high point athlete for the meet. Logan Miller was the second highest scoring athlete.” Miller took first place with a 10:38 time, setting a personal record. William Clinton was fourth, 11:04.96 and Riley Mithcell, fifth place, 11:04.97. George was first in the 1,600-meter run, 4:51; Mitchell, 5:11, fifth place. In the 800-meter run, George had a personal record of 1:59 for first place for a new school record; Miller was second with a time of 2:06. The 4×400-meter relay – the team of Trey Lester, Brennan Green, Logan Miller and Nathan George took second with a time of 3:39.12. George was third in the triple jump, 42 5 1/2, a school record. Patrick Covington took third in the shot put with throw of 39-8. The girls team was 14th in the region. Aleigh Bessonett was third in the 3,200-meter run, 12:46 and fourth in the 1,600 with a time of 5:56. Alma Del Castillo was fifth in the 800-meter run, 2:36 and fourth in the 400-meter run, 1:07. Bessonett and Del Castillo set personal bests. The state track and field meet is May 9-10 in Austin.
